I meant to do something far more meaningful for my 200th post but I’ve got nothing, and I messed that up with the Renzo Piano post… so here is 201! We got Denny pictures (sorry again in advance, there are going to be a lot of those 🙂 ), I have stairs, the backyard is getting cleaned up and I even put in a few hours at work. Coming soon, I will get my gas hooked back up, I have had some minor flops there… more on that soon I hope.
We are under the gun at work for the next couple weeks so I am thinking when that deadline passes I should just take a week off and finish up all those leftover things like the toilet installation, building the media center/bookshelf, finishing the drawers and cabinets etc. I am still shooting for having the open house mid July, it’s looking like the 20th may pan out best. Hoping we get it all done by then!
Here are some pictures:

denny’s flight is on time (sticking with the name Denny btw, hes no Renzo 🙂
-
-
Just after we picked him up, he had nearly a 12 hour flight which is a LONG time for a little dude to be in a crate. Thought the first thing he’d want is to potty (he didn’t make a mess in his crate at all!) but nope, he was most concerned about food!
-
-
Eat eat eat!
-
-
He was actually really chill but outgoing, he was happy to have people pay attention to him… LOTSA kisses
-
-
this is my dirka dirka face
-
-
he’s even more pretty in person! I was surprised how little he is though!
-
-
nom nom
-
-
And getting into my bag already!
-
-
We brought him back and thought we’d let him explore while we set to a few projects so we didn’t overwhelm him…. He loved it when I was putting together the compost bin
-
-
He was in there with me and then stayed in there after, even when i moved it, i think he thought it was his new doghouse…
-
-
Shortly after that it was nap time, he had a BIG day… He pretty much doesn’t want to be left alone
-
-
He got a rawhide and loves it
-
-
And more nap time, hes up for about 30 mins at a time before it’s another naptime
-
-
He’s the little spoon
-
-
he does amazing with potty training, no accidents yet at all and he will squat on command 🙂
-
-
quick potty break between naps at my office
-
-
a little gr0ggy but adorable!
-
-
Sorry, there are a lot of pictures!
-
-
eating grass
-
-
🙂
-
-
He climbed into the camp chair all by himself!
-
-
-
He covers himself with blankets, its pretty funny, I did this one but he’s done it several times himself 🙂
-
-
And onto the real project… I bought some lumber to make some steps to the patio. I had them cut it at the lumber store to save some time since I don’t have the shop nearby any more.
-
-
James does have a battery powered saw that we made a few cuts with
-
-
Putting together the stringers
-
-
And all three, it is a five foot wide set of stairs
-
-
While we worked Denny played with a clump of dirt
-
-
Getting a game plan, there are 2×6’s for the treats and 2×4’s for the risers
-
-
We opted to do the risers first, just after this is where James get’s his first ‘ouch’ post.
-
-
Risers on.
-
-
This is how it will sit, treads to put on still
-
-
Backed up to its final location, it’s a little tall but we will fix that (sorry it was getting dark)
-
-
Complete and puppy approved
-
-
He even uses them for potty time!
-
-
And the composter is in it’s location adn filled with the rest of that
-
-
Here is a panorama of my back yard
-
-
We took the fence from a vacant lot next door, if they want it back they can have it but they aren’t using it 🙂
-
-
Composter in the corner
-
-
Fire pit in the center
-
-
Garden pots, through that gate is how you get to James’s house, I still neet to install that toilet so i can start to feel like I’m not camping…
-
-
Plants
-
-
more plants
-
-
and then out to the front yard
-
-
James’s ouch, he jambed the drill pretty good right into his finger
-
-
Denny doesn’t mind his kennel too much
-
-
This is what a chihuahua and a Great dane look like if they were the same-ish size
-
-
Tobi isn’t real sure about this plan…
-
-
And Denny’s passed out under my desk!
Very nice!
Thanks!
Puppy love! Enjoy!
Don’t ever feel like you have to apologize for lots of puppy pics! He’s adorable. Animals will sometimes let you know what their name needs to be. We tried calling our cat Pumpkin for the longest time but finally realized her name was Dinky.
You are so lucky to be able to take him to work! Yay puppy!
I’m glad Im not the only one that finds him adorable! He does seem so much more ‘Denny’-like, I stuck with that for the dame. Architects are so snooty ;-), and he isn’t!
Sweet stairs! I’m totally going to steal that idea for our stairs.
nice, that’s the best flattery, they actually went together really fast and are very solid, a little heavy but meh! 🙂
Denny is the cutest! Congrats!
Thanks!
Hey again,
Do you have dimensions anywhere for specific interior features? Your bathroom and kitchen look huge to me (relatively of course 🙂 and I’m wondering how long and wide they are. Thanks!
Jill
🙂 You know, I don’t seem to, I thought I did! I will have to get something together for that. The bathroom is 3 foot wide and about 7.5′ long (the shower is 36″x42″). The kitchen is 3′-10″ wide, the counter depth is 22″ and the length of it is 10′ on the dot. It is a pretty good sized kitchen for a tiny house but that was important to me, you could totally get away with less 🙂 Hopefully that helps in the mean time and I will see about getting some other info up on some specifics! Thanks for the comments!
